Stock Cove

Stock Cove is 5 km from Sunnyside by sea. This site contains evidence of every culture that has lived on the island of Newfoundland, with the possible exception of the Norse.

Dr. Chris Wolff has studied this site for more than five years. His area of archaeological expertise is the Dorset. He is on the faculty of State University of New York.

Dr. Don Holly became involved in 2010 because of the large amount of Beothuk material found at the site. He is on the faculty of Eastern Illinois University.

To date, the Smithsonian Institution in Washington, D.C. has provided most of the funding for this project.
